Waterproofing and final form removal

Today we removed the forms from the carport/shed and the porch support wall.  The egress window was finished with the installation of the well, ladder and grate.  The entire living area was waterproofed.

I will be taking the rest of the week off as not much is happening until Monday when the sub-floor package arrives.

Currently soliciting bids for flatwork.  Hope to have the back half of the basement floor done next week so construction of the load-bearing wall can begin.

The front half of the basement floor as well as the floors for the garage and shed will be poured after the 1st of June when backfilling is scheduled.

Here's some pics of today's work:

Shed Foundation and Porch Wall

Today we poured the shed/carport foundation and the porch foundation wall.

The problem here is the porch foundation wall is only 4 or so inches from the bay window in the Breakfast Nook.  This does not allow for easy removal of the forms for the 2nd wall.

But more on that later...

Basement Walls

We were scheduled to pour basement walls about 13:00 this afternoon, but Jody was so meticulous about the squareness of the house that we didn't actually start the pour until much later!  That's dedication!

Trucks 1 and 2 (of 6) - each carries 8-10 yards of concrete.

"Boo" and Dave working the front door and "Nook" area with the 2nd truck.

Work progresses

A little over 50 yards was poured, in total.

Almost done - a little after 19:00 hours.

Tmw, the guys will remove the forms and then pour the 4' walls for the carport / shed.

3 small basement windows were placed, along with a larger egress windows.  They also placed "plugs" for all utility lines, in and out of the basement.  Almost everything that enters the home will do so below final grade!

Footers Poured

Today, we poured footers for the basement, attached garage and carport/shed, as well as the porch and planter.

The guys also began setting forms for the walls, which they will complete and pour tmw.

Mike McKinney is doing the poured walls, and so far, I am very pleased.  They seem to be a good crew and knowledgeable.

Here's some pics of today's activities:
